Please allow up to 7-10 business days for orders in shop to be processed & shipped. Larger chainstitch orders can take up to 3 weeks to ship. Please plan accordingly.

Shipping: Shipping costs calculated at check-out. Tracking will be e-mailed once shipped. We do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage during transit.

Returns: Due to the nature of each hand-sewn, 1 of 1 piece, all items are final sale. If you are not happy with your purchase, or have questions regarding your order,  please e-mail whit@pileofthreads.com

What can I get embroidered?

For chainstitch embroidery, I accept non-stretch, heavy woven apparel like 100% cotton denim, canvas, felt, thick sweatshirt material, t-shirts over 8 oz, and caps. Most people customize denim jackets, sweatshirts, caps, or patches. Bags are possible too! If I can fit it under the needle, I can sew it.

Due to the damaging nature of the heavier stitching over time & other risk factors, I do not accept materials such as thin t-shirts, leather, polyester or spandex. If you aren’t sure, please feel free to upload a photo in the Customs form below.

For digital embroidery, we can be more flexible. Let me know what material you would like when you fill out the form below.

What kind of artwork can you embroider?

Virtually any artwork can be embroidered!

For chainstitch embroidery, the image is traced onto the garment with the corresponding thread colors. Bolder designs with fewer fine details are best suited for this type of “analog” embroidery technique, as it is done by hand. Think block fonts and solid shapes. Please include a .pdf .jpg, or .png and the approximate measurements of your artwork when you fill out the form below. 

For digital embroidery, your artwork needs to be digitized. Include a .pdf, .jpg, or .png and the measurements of your artwork in the form below. These images can be as detailed as possible.

How much does embroidery cost?

Digital Embroidery

- This is a wholesale service

- I will turn your picture into a sewable file at one set size, match corresponding thread colors, and provide you with a sample sew out to approve

- Offering cap and Puff embroidery services

- There is a 15 garment or $200 minimum for this service Max 75 pcs per order

- 1-3 week turnaround

Chainstitch Embroidery 

- This is a 1 of 1 or wholesale service

- Monograms- Small, 1-2” tall script font ie. your name, date, initials, or 1-2 words

- Flashstitch - up to 3”x3” image, ie block letters, small icon.  up to 2 colors

- Starting at $30

**** If you have a small monogram/flash stitch order (1-3 apparel items), please meet me at my next pop up with your garments, and I will sew them on the spot. Please note, I do not take orders under $100 outside of pop-ups. Pop-Up Calendar here ****** Thank you !

- Minimum of 4 garments per mailed order

- For larger artwork, pricing works similarly to a tattoo. Commissions start at $200, depending on size and intricacy of the design.

- 3-4 week turnaround

Need help with your design?

Help me make your dreams come true! Draw a sketch on a napkin (a diagram, stick figure, shapes, doesn’t matter!), send me your Pinterest mood board, tell me your story, share your pics from IG. The more detail you give me, the more realistic we can make your vision!

Logo design services start at $200 and include an in-person or video call consultation and 1 design revision.

What’s the turn-around time for a custom piece?

In general, turn-around time is 1-3 weeks for digital embroidery from the time I receive the garment(s), and depending on amount ordered, and 3-4 weeks on chainstitched orders.

The client is responsible for shipping costs to me, but as a courtesy, I will ship back to you free of charge.

On occasion, I can accommodate a rush client, but there will be an additional 10% rush fee applied

If you have a monogram/flashstitch order for 1-3 garments, please bring it to one of my pop ups, I’ll stitch it on the spot! Follow my calendar to see where to meet me next :)

How do I care for my 1 of 1 garment?

Embroidered pieces should be handled with care and ironed after washing. Wash delicate, hand wash, spot, or dry clean

Lay flat to dry
